Plasma Display is a type of flat panel display which is bright and has very low luminance and wide colored gamut. It is about 6cm thick and commonly used in High definition TVs of 37 inch or more. It works by exciting phosphors which then emit light. To excite phosphors, Neon and xenon gases stored in thousands of cells are electrically turned into an ionised gas known as plasma. These cells are positioned along with long electrodes between glass panels. Charged ion beams and stars are different forms of a plasma. Plasma is formed when +ve and -ve charges move freely as a result of extracting electrons from atoms after ionizing a gas. The lifetime of plasma display is 27 years of actual display time.Since each pixel is lit individually in plasma technology, therefore wide screens can be manufactured with wide viewing angle and very bright image. ICT solutions providers like interactive education provides wide rang of Plasma displays from LG, Panasonic, pioneer and NEC.
